Day Trip!

Well, I am sick, sick, sick of winter and we all decided we needed a little break, so on Saturday we headed down to Logan to visit our friends. They moved down last year and opened a new restaurant making Pizza in a REAL wood-fired oven. We miss them (and the pizza) so we decided to go check it out!
First we had to stop at Red Rock Pass which is where the outlet to Ancient Lake Bonneville was.

From the top you can see over into the next valley where there is some great ranch land that would be a good Louis L'Amour ranch - you know, "nestled in a mountain valley with the back of your cabin against the cliff wall so you're protected from villians." etc. (You always have to keep your eyes open for good ground - except that this drives Prairie Spy nuts because he can't handle just dreaming about it, and becomes adamant that we must move there Right Now.)

Unfortunately, dreaming is about as good as it gets right now. Driving through Preston was great and we pointed out all the Napoleon Dynamite hot-spots: The Cuttin Corral, Summer Wheatley's House, etc.

We couldn't get ahold of Carlisle's so we just decided we'd follow our noses and trust that they were there. After all, running a restaurant is like milking cows, you have to be there. Granny Smith, though, was much more interested in finding his buddy, little Jack C. So we decided to try and find their house before heading to their restaurant.
To be continued...
