Well, I have done what seems like tons and tons of work on my great idea:
1. I have refined the idea like a billion times.
2. I have written adorable "day in the life of" stories so I can share ideas with people on how to use oils without running afoul of "regulations" (Mr. Bechtel required that one....)
3. I have developed a web site (which looks stupid and dumb still)
4. I have pretended to be a professional photographer and taken hundreds of photos of my great ideas.
5. I have sewn a lot of cute clutches with their own duchess essential oil labels.
6. I have further refined my "target market" to focus on the convenience of the clutches, hence the "start carrying" byline, which I think is genius.
7. And I've gotten sooooo close to selling them.... But then I realized at the end, that I cannot sell them on Amazon, because you cannot "bundle" things that other people manufacture and create your own UPC code....blah, blah, blah.
8. And I still don't want to spend tons of money to direct people to my website. So then I've also said, "well, Janene, this has been a very educational experience. But since you are not spending thousands of dollars to manufacture your own oils, etc. etc. it is probably over."
9. And then, I've stomped my foot because in the middle of this pity party I have a friend texting me asking me what oils she should use -- so I KNOW THERE IS A MARKET! It's all very frustrating.
10. So this is the chronicle of the little oils that should, but still aren't.
