Introducing "Max"

There's a new horse here at Crabapple Farm!
Last week Nova Spy found this guy and fell in love.  He's a little 4 year old line back dun gelding.  Nova and Mr. Bechtel went down to Blackfoot to take a look at him, and needless to say, he came home with them.

Granny Smith and I liked him right off.  (although I'm not sure about the name Max - it's the name he came with... there are varying opinions about renaming horses, but we have thrown around, Ace, Tex, and Doc as possibilities.  I guess we'll wait and see what his personality is really like before deciding for real.)  Oh, and I have to put in another caveat:  Nova hates these pictures, thinks he looks like a team roper in them, and wants me to edit him out.  I am not doing that, because to me he is a very important part of this story!  But I do admit that he looks sharp working with horses in his boots and cowboy hat, so as soon as I have some pictures like that, I'll add them!

Right now Nova's plan is to turn him into a great kids horse.  That takes a long time.  But we'll see what he can get done over the winter.  If he'll pack Nova, he should pack anything!
