Several months ago the Spy Twins bought this saddle. After scouring Craig's List for weeks they found this, the perfect saddle. They pooled their money and went to talk to the lady who owned it. They got a good deal on it, but when they got it home and put it on their horses, it did not fit. It was a POJ. The leather looked like plastic, and we were all discouraged.
The saddle sat in the shop for several months. The boys re did the mule hide wrap on the horn, and they put new stirrups on. But it still didn't fit even though it looked better, so they re listed it on Craig's list. I said, "boys, you bought this saddle. You're going to have to sell it yourself."
"No problem Mom. We'll make a profit on it too."
And before I knew it, they'd sold it for $100 more than they'd bought it for, and the guy was totally delighted with the saddle.
Mr. Bechtel and I have decided that we're having the boys do all of our negotiations from now on.
