A Little Vanity

I've been looking for a bureau for Golden Delicious for a long time. I went to all the regular furniture stores and about died when I saw how expensive everything was. Finally I thought of the antique store. They had this darling little vanity from the 1930's. I fell in love and brought it home.

I also bought a few vintage table linens. They are so adorable. I couldn't resist.

As Mr. Bechtel was hauling it to her room he told us this funny little story. (Names have been omitted to protect the innocent... or guilty...)

One of Mr. Bechtel's clients built a lovely new building and the executives were giving tours. They went through the hall ways and meeting rooms and ended up in a nice office. The executive pointed to the corner bureau and said, "and here's a little vanity." One of the people in the tour group piped up and said, "Oh, there's more than a little vanity here."

I'm sure no one was able to laugh. Business is so dreadfully dull. And the man no longer works there. I wonder why? And that's the story of The Little Vanity.
